Pennant raises $5M seed led by Urban Innovation Fund for AI-native proxy voting
Pennant, an AI-native corporate governance platform, closed a $5M seed round led by Urban Innovation Fund, with Y Combinator participating. Its first product is proxy voting: the platform combines an institution's own research, voting guidelines and past decisions so investors can apply independent judgement across large volumes of votes. FinTech Global reports that customers already include US pension funds, institutional asset managers and governance and legal advisers.
Proxy voting has long leaned on a few advisory firms; an AI tool built around each institution's own policies is a direct challenge to that model.
