Anthropic and Hg plan a European AI consultancy that will also work with Hg's portfolio

Anthropic and London buyout firm Hg have agreed to set up an independent AI consultancy that embeds AI consultants and engineers inside European companies, first reported by the Financial Times. It is due to launch by the end of 2026 with hubs in London and Berlin, focused on software and similar businesses, and will work with Hg's portfolio companies.
Why it matters for investors
It is a PE firm building its own AI deployment arm with a frontier lab for portfolio value creation, a model other software-heavy sponsors may copy instead of hiring the big consultancies.
