Bloomberg rolls out AI coding assistant BQuant
Bloomberg introduced BQuant Assistant, a conversational AI coding assistant built into BQuant Desktop and BQuant Enterprise for Bloomberg Terminal subscribers. It writes Python and BQL queries against Bloomberg data, and with the user's approval can insert, run and debug code in their notebook. Bloomberg says it will be generally available in BQuant Enterprise and in limited beta in BQuant Desktop at the end of October 2026.
Quant and fundamental teams on the Terminal get a coding assistant grounded in Bloomberg's own data fields, which lowers the bar for testing strategy ideas in code.
