In a speech at a Bloomberg event, Jessica Rusu, the UK Financial Conduct Authority's chief data, information and intelligence officer, called on AI providers to add clear, proportionate and consistent disclaimers to financial information and advice produced by general-purpose LLMs and agentic AI. She said four in five less-experienced investors aged 18 to 40 have used AI to help with investing, but only 40% of consumers know there is no recourse if something goes wrong after acting on advice from a general-purpose AI tool. Saturn, an AI provider for financial advisers, said disclaimers alone are not enough.
Ttoktok, a subsidiary of Korean venture capital firm DSC Investment, launched DDworks, an AI work agent for the alternative investment industry, alongside IMworks, an integrated investment management service. DDworks connects fund and investment data already held in ERP systems with contracts and meeting minutes, then searches the material, organizes review findings and drafts reports. Ttoktok says it handles recurring work such as contract review, post-investment portfolio management and checking exit status, while the person in charge checks the source materials before any final decision. Both products will be shown to industry professionals at a showcase in Seoul at the end of October.
Ansarada, a virtual data room for M&A, capital raising and restructures, and Legora announced an integration that lets deal teams browse their Ansarada data rooms inside Legora and import documents and folders with the folder structure carried over. Users can then run due diligence with Legora Agent or a Tabular Review, draft from the documents and build closing checklists. Legora only shows what each user is entitled to see under their Ansarada permissions, and every import is recorded in the data room's audit trail. The integration is in beta for Legora customers with Ansarada access, with a focus on Australia and New Zealand.
In an OpenAI customer story, Anant Kumar, a portfolio manager at credit-focused investment manager Benefit Street Partners, describes building his own tools with Codex. A tracker built from public BDC filings compares how different holders value the same loan; the first version took about a day. A credit agreement analyzer, built on law-firm memos about risky clauses, produces a first-pass analysis of a long credit agreement in about 20 minutes, followed by an hour or more of human review. Kumar says analysts can now answer investment committee follow-up questions in a day, often during the meeting itself.
Hogan Lovells Cadwalader, formed by this year's merger of Hogan Lovells and Wall Street finance firm Cadwalader, has signed firmwide agreements with both Harvey and Legora rather than picking one. The two platforms sit alongside ELTEMATE, the firm's roughly 100-person in-house legal tech business. Legora said the deal follows a pilot in which more than 1,300 lawyers across 18 practice teams, including M&A, capital markets and banking and finance, used it on real matters. The firm also set up an AI board and named a managing partner for legal technology and AI.

Lawyers can also update tasks by email. Tasks, comments and notifications are rolling out across Harvey workspaces now, with early access for templates.
Senior Freshfields partners discussed carving out Freshfields Lab, the firm's legal tech arm that builds AI tools for its lawyers and clients for tasks such as document analysis and due diligence, and bringing in external investors or an IPO, according to an email exchange leaked to the Financial Times. Global managing partner Alan Mason wrote that legal tech companies are valued at 25 to 40 times revenue, and Ethan Klingsberg, co-head of US corporate and M&A, said a standalone Freshfields Lab would probably be worth billions. Klingsberg told the FT the talks are very early stage, and that a big question is whether the tools stay valuable to other firms once they run on those firms' data instead of Freshfields'.

PlanLab is included in the DeepVest platform at no extra cost.
At TechCrunch Disrupt, Benchmark partners Eric Vishria, Chetan Puttagunta and Peter Fenton said the unwritten VC rule against backing head-on rivals is under strain as AI startups expand into overlapping markets. Vishria said portfolio conflicts are inevitable as companies evolve quickly; Puttagunta tied the trend to software build costs falling toward zero and founders claiming more surface area. Fenton called conflict management the firm's toughest problem and stressed transparency so founders are not surprised. The piece also cites shared OpenAI and Anthropic investors and the Factory-Cognition dispute involving Khosla Ventures.

Answers link back to the defining clause, later amendments and the underlying financial figures, and the company gives questions such as priming capacity, liability management exercises, dividend recaps and permitted EBITDA adjustments as typical uses.
